DIY Printable Notebook

I am obsessed with notebooks. 

I couldn't even tell you how many blank (& beautiful) notebooks I have laying around. 

Notebooks are my weakness! 

This isn't the first time I create DIY notebooks, remember this? Well in the spirt of making old things new, or in this case making old blog posts new again, I've create new DIY printable (& Customizable) notebooks!

The DIY Printable Notebook file (download link in the instructions section) comes with two patterns and two customization options! The notebooks come in black & white polka dots and pink stripes. You have the option of customizing with your monogram or with regular text! 

Print on white card stock & trim the notebook covers

Use the Page Template to trim the inside pages for your notebook

Use a scoring board to score the center of your notebook. 

Align the Page Template with the paper and trim.

Use Binder Clips to keep the pages together before you sew.

DIY Printable Notebooks

Materials:

• White Card Stock
• White Computer Paper
• Printer
• Sewing Machine (I use one similar to this one) or a Long Reach Stapler
• Scoring Board/ Paper Trimmer (This would work)

Instructions:

1. Download the DIY Printable Notebook PDF
2. Open the file in Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader is free. Opening the file in other programs may show a different font.
3. Edit the monogram in the following format: First name initial: lowercase, Last name initial: uppercase, Middle Name initial: lowercase
4. Edit the text pages. Customize with your name or notebook title.
5. Save the file.
6. Print! For the best results do NOT scale the page. Borderless printing will provide you with the correct notebook size. Search Google for "Borderless printing with "printer name here" printer" for instructions. Note that some printers do not have borderless printing, in that case I recommend printing a test page to see how it works. I also recommend printing on white card stock. If you have access to laminating that would be great! I'm not sure how stitching works on laminated paper but it is worth a try!
7. Trim the DIY printable notebook cover & page template.
8. Use a scoring board to score the center of your notebook. Or simply fold it down the middle :)
9. Use the Page Template to trim the inside pages for your notebook. You can use a scoring board/trimming board to make this easier. I used 6 sheets of paper for my notebook, this was all my sewing machine could handle! 
10. Use Binder Clips to keep the pages together before you sew. Not sewing your notebook together? Use a stapler to attach your pages together.
11. Enjoy your new custom notebooks!

Printable Dividers for your Mini Binder

It's time for a fun printable DIY! Last year I created a set of Pink & Navy Printable Dividers for your Mini Binders 

and I thought it would be fun to bring them back! Just in time for back-to-school!  

The new set of printable dividers features dots and stripes in Pink & Black. 

The PDF is editable so that you can customize the titles to what you need!

Print on White Card Stock & Trim

Free Printable Binder Covers

Happy Valentine's Day! Hope you are having a day full of love, friends, and family! I am spending my day working and my evening with the bf :) Since sending each of you a home made brownie would be both a lot of baking and a lot of time I thought that some custom free printable binder covers would be a good compromise! :) 

I've designed a pretty heart pattern and used it as the background for 5 fun binder covers! 

Each binder cover also has a corresponding back page and spines for different binder sizes. Printable binder covers are a fun way to decorate your school, office, or home binders! 

Directions

1. Download the printable binder covers
2. Open the PDF with Adobe Reader (Adobe Reader is a free download!)
3. Change the monogram to your own using this format: First Name Initial: lowercase, Last Name Initial: uppercase, Middle Name Initial: lowercase
4. Print your binder covers and spines. I recommend printing on card stock.
5. Slip into a clear sleeve binder and enjoy!

Black and White Bookmarks

Hooray for new bookmarks! I am planning on getting a couple of new books this week so I thought it was the perfect time for a new set of printable bookmarks! I am in love with everything black, white, and gold right now so the bookmarks are designed to fit in with this color palette.

Materials 

1) Bookmark PDF

2) Adobe Reader (This will let you change the monogram to your own)

3) White Card Stock 

4) Printer

5) Scissors

Instructions

1) Download the Bookmark PDF

2) Open the PDF in Adobe Reader

3) Customize the monogram for each bookmark (left initial: lowercase, center initial: uppercase, right initial: lowercase) Learn about Monogram Etiquette>>

4) Print the bookmarks on White Card Stock 

5) Cut the bookmarks out

6) Fold the bookmarks at the dashed line

7) Admire your adorable monogram bookmarks and get reading!

DIY: Mini Binder Printable Dividers

The bf got me the cutest little binder at Target a couple of weeks ago and I am obsessed! He says I like it because it's little and cute. He's right! I don't know why, but it being smaller than a normal binder does make it appealing to me. 

Well at first I was a little confused about where I would get paper for my mini binder and after finding the mini binder section at Target, yes it exists, I found paper packs and dividers. I wasn't really impressed with the selection so I opted out of getting dividers and of course opted for making my own. I made the mini dividers into an editable PDF that you can download for free, customize, print, and enjoy!    

DIY Mini Binder Printable (Monogram!) Dividers

Materials:

• Mini Binder - Mine is from Target and is not available online, lame! But I did find these pretty ones! 
• White Card Stock
• Printer - I use this one. 
• Hole Punch
• Mini Binder Paper 

Instructions:

1. Download the free Mini Binder Printable Dividers PDF 
2. Open the file in Adobe Reader. You can download Adobe Reader for free here. Why Adobe Reader? Because without it instead of the pretty monogram font you will just see plain text, no fun! 
3. Edit the monogram using the following format: First name initial: lowercase, Last name initial: uppercase, Middle name initial: lowercase
4. Edit the tab text and cover text to say whatever you'd like! 
5. Save the file and print. I recommend printing on this card stock.
6. With your files printed now it's time to cut out each divider. 
7. Since binders have different rings I decided against adding hole punch guides so for this step take a page from your mini binder and align it with the divider to see where you should hole punch. I used this adorable pink hole punch! 
8. Place the mini dividers in your mini binder and enjoy!

Printable + Customizable 5x7 Notebook

There is no denying I love a cute notebook! I have a notebook for everything, my blog post ideas, to-do list, to write down random thoughts, and to keep track of expenses. I can never have to many notebooks!

Printable Notebook and Printable Bookmarks for Steve's mom!

If you've visited my Etsy shop, you've probably seen my line of printables. These cute little printable notebooks are now available as part of the printables! But since I love y'all I've decided to make the Navy notebook available as a free printable!  Follow the instructions below to download the notebook. If you print it out share your photos with me #jessmariedesign.

Customize & Print your own Notebook!

Getting and Editing the File

1. Like the Jessica Marie Design Facebook Page to gain access to the Notebook PDF file.
2. Download the PDF. 
3. Open the PDF in Adobe Reader (Free Download Here). Please make sure to open the file in Adobe Reader so that you can edit the text in the file. 
4. Edit the title of your notebook on the cover page and add your name to the inside cover. 

Printing the File

1. Print the outside and inside covers on white card stock. You will get the best results when you select double sided printing. Double sided printing is different depending on your printer.
2. Print one copy of the blank page template and use it to trim the rest of your pages. 

Trimming the Notebook Pages

1. For the cover page: trim outside of the solid line.
2. For the inside pages: trim outside of the solid line. Use the template to cut out as many pages as you want for your notebook. (I noticed that about 10 pages works best!)

Binding the Notebook

1. You can follow some great tutorials about hand stitching the notebook together.
2. Stitch your notebook with a sewing machine.
3. Or you can just staple it together. :)
