Printables to Help you Stay Organized in School

Assignments List and Assignment Planner shown in "Colorful" Design

School is right around the corner and while I graduated a couple of years ago my sister is entering her sophomore year in college. I've helped her with organization before and this year I created some printables that are perfect for keeping track of her class schedule and assignments. These would be perfect for you too!

Monday through Friday Class Schedule shown in "Colorful Dots" Design

The Class Schedule printable comes in 2 versions:

1. Monday through Friday 
2. Monday through Saturday (for those who have the dreaded Saturday classes!)

Use the Class Schedule page to keep track of your classes, room numbers, professor names, and day and time. This is a great visual representation of your weekly routine for the semester. You can also include other events that are repeated weekly such as meetings, work, or study group times.

Assignments List and Assignment Planner Shown in "Colorful" Design. 

Keep track of ALL of your class assignments with this Assignments List printable. When I was in school I found that having an assignments list for every month is what worked for me. To use this printable I suggest that once you have all of your class syllabi you open them all to the assignments page, highlight the items for the first month of school, enter in the dates, class name, and assignments in order for the month. You can do this by entering the text in Adobe Reader, saving the file, then printing or by printing out the Assignments List and handwriting in everything. Then repeat the process for every month of the semester. The Assignments list could then be placed in your planner or can be hung in your room to help remind you what you have due. 

Assignment Planner show in "Colorful" Design 

Use the Assignment Planner to keep track of to do items for big projects. Have a major research paper due at the end of the semester? Break it down into smaller, more manageable to do items and check them off as you complete them. My sister said this would be specifically helpful when preparing for her midterm presentations!

DIY Printable Notebook

I am obsessed with notebooks. 

I couldn't even tell you how many blank (& beautiful) notebooks I have laying around. 

Notebooks are my weakness! 

This isn't the first time I create DIY notebooks, remember this? Well in the spirt of making old things new, or in this case making old blog posts new again, I've create new DIY printable (& Customizable) notebooks!

The DIY Printable Notebook file (download link in the instructions section) comes with two patterns and two customization options! The notebooks come in black & white polka dots and pink stripes. You have the option of customizing with your monogram or with regular text! 

Print on white card stock & trim the notebook covers

Use the Page Template to trim the inside pages for your notebook

Use a scoring board to score the center of your notebook. 

Align the Page Template with the paper and trim.

Use Binder Clips to keep the pages together before you sew.

DIY Printable Notebooks

Materials:

• White Card Stock
• White Computer Paper
• Printer
• Sewing Machine (I use one similar to this one) or a Long Reach Stapler
• Scoring Board/ Paper Trimmer (This would work)

Instructions:

1. Download the DIY Printable Notebook PDF
2. Open the file in Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader is free. Opening the file in other programs may show a different font.
3. Edit the monogram in the following format: First name initial: lowercase, Last name initial: uppercase, Middle Name initial: lowercase
4. Edit the text pages. Customize with your name or notebook title.
5. Save the file.
6. Print! For the best results do NOT scale the page. Borderless printing will provide you with the correct notebook size. Search Google for "Borderless printing with "printer name here" printer" for instructions. Note that some printers do not have borderless printing, in that case I recommend printing a test page to see how it works. I also recommend printing on white card stock. If you have access to laminating that would be great! I'm not sure how stitching works on laminated paper but it is worth a try!
7. Trim the DIY printable notebook cover & page template.
8. Use a scoring board to score the center of your notebook. Or simply fold it down the middle :)
9. Use the Page Template to trim the inside pages for your notebook. You can use a scoring board/trimming board to make this easier. I used 6 sheets of paper for my notebook, this was all my sewing machine could handle! 
10. Use Binder Clips to keep the pages together before you sew. Not sewing your notebook together? Use a stapler to attach your pages together.
11. Enjoy your new custom notebooks!

Printable Dividers for your Mini Binder

It's time for a fun printable DIY! Last year I created a set of Pink & Navy Printable Dividers for your Mini Binders 

and I thought it would be fun to bring them back! Just in time for back-to-school!  

The new set of printable dividers features dots and stripes in Pink & Black. 

The PDF is editable so that you can customize the titles to what you need!

Print on White Card Stock & Trim

Brand Update

Hi! Hope all is well with everyone! It's been busy around here between working on the new printable planners and new blog and shop branding. Confession: I've been planning a branding update for a very, very long time but I just never quite committed to something. After countless hours of pinning inspiration images I finally made a decision! Cue the confetti!

The new www.JessicaMarieDesign.com homepage! 

I'm excited about the updated scrolling images and simplified layout.

For the blog I simplified the layout with only 2 columns instead of three. This allows for more blog content space!
